Based on the recommendations of National Police Commission, a proposal for setting-up of J&K Police Housing Corporation, was mooted to the Government in 1988. Government subsequently accorded sanction to the setting-up of J&K Police Corporation on 30-03-1989.
In 1997, the Corporation, was got registered with the Registrar of Companies, Government of India on 26-12-1997. It became functional, after the government appointed Directors on it board on 14-05-1998.
